Practical measures support this approach. Learners are made aware of where they can seek help, and information about local support organisations is available. Safeguarding topics are also integrated into lessons and activities, helping learners build awareness of how to keep themselves and others safe.
Building Confidence and Trust
An important result of this work is that learners feel able to speak openly. Children, teenagers, and adults know that their concerns will be listened to and taken seriously. This has encouraged more open communication, with young people in particular feeling more confident about asking for guidance on personal or sensitive issues.
