The Young Leaders Programme
The Young Leaders programme trains teenagers aged 12 to 18 to support the learning of younger children. Each Young Leader works with a small group of primary school pupils, helping them improve their reading, writing, and numeracy skills in French—the language used in schools.
Through this experience, Young Leaders gain valuable skills themselves. Initially, many feel nervous or unsure, but over time they become more confident, learning how to organise activities, guide others, and work as part of a team.
Supporting Younger Learners
The programme takes place several afternoons each week in a local school environment. Sessions are designed to be enjoyable and engaging, combining structured learning with games and group activities. Children attend voluntarily, drawn by the friendly atmosphere and the opportunity to learn from slightly older peers.
