One such person is Mor, whose commitment to education and community service has made a significant difference to the Centre and its learners.
Meet Mor
Mor is 43 years old, married, and the father of two children. Professionally, he works as a trainer in Microsoft Office applications, helping people develop the digital skills increasingly needed in today’s workplace. Alongside his professional career, he volunteers regularly at the Diapalante Community Education Centre, supporting learners and contributing to a wide range of activities.
Expanding Access to Digital Skills
Recognising the growing importance of computer literacy, Mor established the Centre’s “Digital Holidays” programme. The initiative provides intensive computer training during school holiday periods, enabling adults and young people to learn skills that they might otherwise struggle to access because of work, study, or family commitments.
Under Mor’s guidance, participants have gained practical experience in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other essential digital skills. For many, this has been their first meaningful opportunity to use a computer and to develop skills that can improve their employment prospects, support their education, or strengthen their businesses.
The programme has become an important part of the Centre’s activities, helping learners build confidence and prepare for the increasingly digital world around them.
